one of the things about reading a good book is that you dont notice the paper the ink, all those things. you are just into the story.

well the kindle does that. i was just cooking some canned soup while reading the ebook "Animals Make Us Human" i was so engulfed in the story that i didnt notice my soup, which i was right next to. it is was not until i smelled the chicken goodness that i remembered the soup 12 inches away from me.

it really is like reading from a book.

but i want to add somethings i have not seen others talk about:

1- it plays mine sweeper. i know for a $360 device thats not that big of a deal but it is cool to have when you need time to think about what you are reading.

2- others have mentioned that you can change font size, but there is something about that people forget to mention. you can do this on the fly as you read. this is cool because i do have some vision problems and so as the day goes on i can and do move to bigger text. and then smaller and back again. this is so easy to do. there is a button for it and everything so that you dont have to fish around with menus.

3- ok people have talked about the buttons being hard to press. it is not true the buttons are VERY EASY TO PRESS. but there is a trick. you need to press the side that is closest to the screen. that side is not harder to press than any other button. this means that you can hold it anyway you like with your hands on the outside edge and not press the button by mistake.

4- amazon service is really amazing. very well done. i posted on the forums that i was having problems with my text to speech (as i said i have vision problems so this is important to me) they CALLED ME to offer a hand. and have been extremely helpful and wonderful about working with me to get it fixed. this is not something people talk about in reviews but it is refreshing to know that for the length of the warranty this is the high caliber of service that we will all get included in the price. just amazing. again amazon well done.
